American Eagle

Posted by fashiondevo on May 17, 2007

My sister used to work for the American Eagle Outfitters warehouse in our local industrial park. She did not sell American Eagle clothing, but she did work very closely with the clothes. Her job was to unpack boxes that were shipped from the factories that actually manufactured the American Eagle clothing. She also inspected the clothing and sorted the items.

Her job was very interesting and the time moved very quickly for her. One of the major benefits of working for the company was having access to the quarterly American Eagle clothing sale. These sales are the stuff of dreams for any woman and I was fortunate enough to get a pass to the quarterly sales because my sister worked for the company. She could bring two guests and I was always first on her list.

I can not express how amazed I was at the quality of the American Eagle clothing. The company produced clothing for people of nearly all ages. The items were left-over and some were slightly damaged, but they were selling at such ridiculous prices that each item was of value. Some of the American Eagle clothing sells for literally pennies. Even the damaged items were sought after by many of the shoppers, especially those of us with sewing machines.

The only problem with the American Eagle clothing sale was that it was extremely crowded. It was best to get to the warehouse very early and wait in line. Some people went as far as to camp in front of the doors, but it really wasn’t necessary. Once the doors opened, it was every woman for her self. My sister and I would not even try to keep track of each other. We just went our separate ways and met at a designated spot after the frenzy was over.

It was all worth it in the end. We wound up with a load of American Eagle clothing and we enjoyed our morning’s shopping adventure. We would often buy items for friends and family and for each other as well. After all, it was American Eagle clothing and it was so affordable. If someone didn’t like what I picked, it didn’t matter. It probably cost around seventy-five cents.

I still buy American Eagle clothing even though I don’t have access to the secret sales. I do keep reminding my sister that she did like her warehouse job and that maybe she should consider returning to American Eagle. I think that she considers it sometimes, at least during each quarter.

Shopping on a Budget

Posted by fashiondevo on May 2, 2007

If you’re looking to save money, one of the best ways to save is to cut down on your unnecessary expenses. This can range from having one less meal at a restaurant every week to moving to a smaller apartment. Cutting down on expenses doesn’t necessarily mean that you don’t buy as many things; you can save quite a bit if you buy the same items at lower prices.

Buying discounted clothes is a great way to save, since you need to buy some clothes one way or another. Though many people, myself included, try to avoid buying clothes we don’t need, sometimes a new job or just boredom with your own wardrobe will prompt you to go clothes shopping. Most clothes in department stores are sold at a significant markup, which means that if you pay attention and wait for a sale or a clearance you can get discounted clothes and pay ½ as much as you would if you were to buy the clothes at their retail prices. This holds true for men’s, women’s, and even children’s clothes in almost every department store in America. Watch for particularly deep discounts right after the holidays when stores are trying to clear out the inventories they’ve built up for the holiday season. Also, look for sales at the end of seasons. Leftover winter clothing is usually sold at deep discounts when spring rolls around, and summer clothes can be picked up for a song in late fall. The best way to pick up discounted clothes at rock-bottom prices is to keep an eye on the types of clothes you want over the course of a few months, not buying until they go on sale. This strategy will let you get the best bargains in retail department stores.

Now a days, you don’t have to shop at places like the Salvation Army, or Goodwill outlet. Many people scoff at the idea of buying pre-owned discounted clothes. Sometimes it can be a fun idea and you can find some really great vintage items. If you’re not up to wearing other people’s clothing you can always go to low-buget stores like Old Navy, Marshall’s and other oulets. Some places, will have suits and dresses from top designers like Polo and Dolce & Gabanna, clothes in great condition at amazing prices. All of these clothing are pretty much like the orginals, the stores allow you to dress in designer clothes at department store prices. It may take a little more hunting in order to track down good deals. However, if you’re willing to sort through the racks and racks of clothes you can often snag some amazing deals.

Juicy Couture

Posted by fashiondevo on April 11, 2007

Juicy Couture jeans are hitting the market with a bang. We have seen them on many famous individuals like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. While the look (and the price) is not for everyone, many young ladies in the mainstream are seeking out these sought-after jeans in droves. If the trend continues, Juicy Couture jeans may become a product accessible to the average girl.

What makes these pants so attractive is the balance between high fashion and casual style. You can pair the Juicy Couture jeans with a regular tee shirt or you can dress them up with a dressy blouse. The casual feel of the pants are appealing and the element of high fashion make these jeans some of the most versitle on the market today.

It is the versitality of the Juicy Couture jeans that make them so valuable. You can spend quite a bit on just one pair but you can be sure that you will get good use out of the product. The benefit of owning clothing like this is that the looks will not go out of style any time soon. You can feel confident that you Juicy Couture jeans will have a long life.

How rare it is that we actually wear out our jeans before donating them to the Good Will or tossing them out. The Juicy Couture jeans promise to be around for a long time. In fact, you can bet that you will wear through them before you will grow weary of them.

The quality of the product is outstanding as well. Considering that you will wear through them before you let them go, you will probably have to wear them for a few years. The Juicy Couture jeans are made of the finest materials and they are diligently constructed by a team of professionals.

Many may back away from buying a pair of Juicy Couture jeans because of the formidable price tag. However, this kind of purchase usually winds up benefiting you in the long run. Investing in quality clothing that will not go out of style any time soon is always good practice.

Right now, the hottest trend in fashion seems to be the skinny pants. This look was founded by women a few generations ago and the look stuck for quite some time. You can be sure that the Juicy Couture jeans in the new skinny design will be fashionable for a long time to come.

Follow Your Own Fashion Sense.

Posted by fashiondevo on April 7, 2007

A lot of younger girls, and even some older ones, are hopelessly smitten with celebrity fashions. Though I don’t think there is anything wrong with this, it can be a problem. Some girls are trying to wear celebrity fashions that are entirely too much for them. When a twelve-year-old girl has a thong peeking up above her jeans, you have to cringe a bit, and wonder why her mother let her out of the door that morning. Sex sells, but should it be selling to that young of an age group?

There is something about celebrity fashions that catches the imaginations of teenagers and adults alike. They always have the latest fashions, and celebrities are worshiped in our world. They have the money to buy the newest fashions, and they have to keep one step ahead. There is nothing wrong with wanting to wear celebrity fashions, but you should know that there is a good way to go about it, and after that, you have crossed the line into the absurd. You really have to consider what you look like when putting something on, celebrity look or not. Many of the clothes are meant to be larger than life, and they should stay on television and out of your wardrobe.

Celebrity fashions are often dictated by fashion designers. When it comes to big events, most celebrities don’t even pick out or pay for their own clothing. Designers give them dresses to wear. If you want to get that particular dress, I hope you have a lot of money to blow on clothing. Another thing to consider is lifestyle. A celebrity is expected to be larger than life (take Cher for example) but most of us end up looking ridiculous if we copy some of the celebrity fashions you see in the magazines. Some things should stay on the pages of a magazine and should never be worn to the grocery store.

If you like celebrity fashions, you should make a few adjustments before you go shopping. Don’t copy anyone, because you want to be yourself first and foremost. If you like certain celebrity fashions, you can incorporate them into your own look. Don’t be a look alike, be an original. Take your favorite parts of celebrity fashions and find a way to make them work within your wardrobe while keeping your own personality and taste involved. You may find you love this more than following the celebrity fashions to the letter. Nothing is more fashionable than being yourself.

The Hottest Celebrity Fashion

Posted by fashiondevo on April 3, 2007

Celebrity fashion has become somewhat of an obsession for the public and the media nowadays. Many people don’t watch the award shows to see who is winning what awards, they want to see what everyone is wearing. You ca get the hottest trends from award shows. The media can do entire hour-long shows over and over again on celebrity fashion. No matter what a celebrity is wearing, once it is in pictures and in the media, people will want to be buying whatever it is they are wearing. The problem with that becomes the fact that the celebrity fashion choices are usually way too expensive. Normal people cannot find the extra financing to purchase such fashion items, so they may settle for something generic that simply mimics their expensive tastes.

Magazines have tons of articles and pages devoted to nothing but celebrity fashion. They give tips on how to dress like a celebrity, how to get their outfits on a lower scale budget and even criticize how celebrity fashion can end up in disasters. Let’s face it, people are crazy about celebrity fashion. They figure that if they see their favorite celebrity wearing a particular outfit, that means it is stylish. Celebrities wear the most beautiful gowns to events and award shows but they don’t actually own them. At least, not the majority of them. The designers will send their designs and dresses to celebrities in order to get them to wear them and have the publicity. That’s how important celebrity fashion has become. Designers utilize public appearances for advertisements. If a celebrity looks like a knockout in a particular dress, it doesn’t mean that I’m in a hurry to run out and buy that dress by that designer. It simply means I admire it. It also doesn’t mean that I’m more likely to wear a particular
designer simply because someone famous was wearing it. Celebrity fashion doesn’t make me want to buy anything in particular.

People have been intrigued by celebrity fashion for years and years. They will frequent the boutiques and stores that their favorite celebrity shops at. Some extreme fans of celebrity fashion will accumulate credit cards of debt just to get the same outfits that a particular person was wearing on a show or in a magazine. To those overly obsessed people, I say, get a life. There are many more important things in the world than celebrity fashion and trying to look like them. Just because you wear something that they worn in public doesn’t mean you’re going to suddenly turn into them or become famous yourself. Sure, you may look like you have more money than you do have, but you don’t have the same checking account that celebrities do in order to pay things off. So its best to always look your best with the budget you have, but there are ways to look like you’re wearing the top designers at low prices….. more on this in part 2.

Need A Custom T-Shirt, Do IT Yourself

Posted by fashiondevo on January 17, 2007

Need A Custom T-Shirt, Do IT Yourself

Many people believe that if they want custom designed shirts, they have to go out and pay someone to print them, but often, they can make their own for next to nothing at home, as a fun and entertaining craft project. Of course, if you want hundreds of custom designed shirts to sell, perhaps at a craft fair or music or sports event, then its best to hire someone to print them for you, but if you are just making one or two for you and your friends, it will be much quicker and easier just to do them at home.

How you should make your custom designed shirts depends mostly on what kind of effect you are going for. If you only want words on your shirt, or very simple designs, and you don’t mind a rough, homemade appearance, the easiest way to may custom designed shirts is with either a sharpie or a fabric marker. A fabric marker will set automatically, and last for quite a while, but costs a little more. You probably have a sharpie lying around your house right now, so you could get to work if you have an old tee shirt to write on. But when making custom designed shirts with a sharpie, always wash them in cold salt water when you are done. This is the only way to get the color to set. Otherwise, it will bleed all over when you wash your shirt, causing a horrible mess!

Another way to make a custom designed shirt is with a stencil and some paint. You can use many different kinds of paint. I have made several custom designed shirts with just a cardboard cut out stencil and a can of spray paint, which has a very stylish, punk kind of look for it, like a spray painted stencil on the wall would have. Personally, I think it looks fabulous, but if you are looking for a more finished appearance, you can use silk screen. It takes a little longer to set up, and the supplies can cost a little more, but silk screening has its advantages. It will give you the clearest image of all of these methods, just like a professionally made shirt once you get the hang of it. And with silk screening, you can make many different shirts, with different colors, off of the same design, and they will all maintain the same smooth, well made appearance.

Brand Name Jeans

Posted by fashiondevo on December 18, 2006

Brand Name Jeans

If you are looking for brand name jeans, look no further than the internet. There are lots of online clothing retailers that carry brand name jeans, and they usually have a greater selection and wider range of sizes available too, than at many retail department stores. For example, at www.marshallsclothingcompany.com, shoppers can check out great brand name jeans from Levi’s, Calvin Klein, Gas, Guess, Billabong, Carhartt, Tommy Hilfiger, Candies, Buffalo, Fidelity, Chip & Pepper, Blue Cult, Bartack, Mavi, Juicy Couture, Manager, Nautica, Parasuco, Rock & Republic, True Religion, and many more! Another popular site that carries brand name jeans is (what else?!) www.brandnamejeans.com! This retailer features flat rate shipping of only $5.99 on all orders, and has a great selection of brand name jeans, sunglasses, ponchos, and other designer clothing.

Are you curious which brand name jeans are the most popular? Visit Splise – Brand Comparison Shopping at www.splise.com. Currently the top contenders are: 7 For All Mankind, True Religion, Joe’s Jeans, Levi’s, Calvin Klein Jeans, Apple Bottom, Rock & Republic, Evisu, Diesel Jeans, and Miss Sixty. So if you want to keep up with fashion trends, these are the brand name jeans you must have in your wardrobe! Of course, with popularity, comes a more expensive price tag; some of these brands cost as much as $350 per pair, if you want to pay full price. However, most of us don’t want to pay that much, which is why discount retailers of brand name jeans are so popular. Who wouldn’t want to pay less for expensive brand name jeans? You’re the only one that has to know, unless of course you want to share your secret!

If you have a favorite brand name jean, go directly to their company website or outlet to check out the latest styles and promotions. Items that are being discontinued are often on sale to make room for the new line coming out. You can get great brand name jeans at a lower price, leaving you more money to buy that cute top that you just can’t live without! If you’re not sure how a certain brand fits, try a pair on while out at the mall. If you like them and the price is reasonable, then buy them, if not, go home and shop online. You may get a better price, and you’ll more than likely find the exact style and size you’re looking for! Shopping should be fun, so get busy!

Retro Designer Dresses

Posted by fashiondevo on December 17, 2006

No one likes to go running around in apparel that does not look great. When it comes to women’s designer fashion, there is an incredible amount of buzz that surrounds a new item when it roles off the conveyor belt.

Designer dresses come in all different types, sizes and brands. These dresses are made in bulk everyday to feed the consumption demand to a significant degree. These dresses are made by both domestic brands and international brands as well. When one considers that this is a huge amount of dress production everyday, it is not surprising that older designer dresses get pushed off the shelves to make room for the new dresses. That probably means that there is no interest in older dresses, right? Not so fast there…

There is quite a bit of interest in older dresses. Now, most people assume that older dresses refers to relatively new (1-3 years old) used dresses that will be offered through online auction sites. Yes, there are quite a bit of those types of dresses for…
